Bethard Group withdraws from German Market

Another operator cease its German operation as from Thursday, 12th November 2020.

Due the planned, upcoming regulation in Germany (Glücksspielstaatsvertrag “GlüStV 2021”) the Bethard Group decided to stop the activity for German players on their brands, like:

German players with an account at these brands can login and withdraw any outstanding balance until the 31st December 2020.

In July 2021 the new Online Gambling regulation (Glücksspielstaatsvertrag “GlüStV 2021”) in Germany could be active. Operators who have the intention to get a German License should already now implement several restrictions for German players (called transition phase). Some of these are:

Since 15th October:
– 1000€ deposit limit per month
– Removal of Table-, Live- and Jackpotgames
– “Panic Button” (one click 24 hour self exclusion)

As from 15th December:
– Max. bet of 1€ for any slots
– Minimum time of 5 seconds between 2 spins

The planned regulation with their restrictions is highly controversial. So not only the players, also the operators are uncertain about the recent and upcoming legal situation in Germany.

It seems that more and more Operators are just shutting down their services for Germans to avoid uncomfortable situations.

The Bethard Group now joins this list of Operators besides Betsafe, Redbet, Kaboo, Casinoland, Wishmaker, Casinosecret and some more.
